OverwatchMAJOR PTR nerf: What Changes Matter Most
Overwatch lead designer, Geoff Goodman, has posted the latest changes for the PTR patch. And it seems that Ana would receive the biggest nerf of them all. And with that, it would seem that the current meta is going to change once again.
Ana leaving the meta?
The change in Ana mainly focuses on the damage output and healing done. With her rifle damage down from 80 to 60, it doesn’t seem too significant. But her Biotic Grenade damage and heal were half, practically throwing away her effectiveness as a healer.
- Damage decreased from 80 to 60
- Impact damage reduced from 60 to 30
- Impact healing reduced from 100 to 50
Was Orisa too strong?
The patch changes also notes that Orisa has been nerfed as well. With the ammo capacity down from 200 to 150, and her ultimate now takes 15% longer to charge. It isn’t as significant as compared to Ana.
- Magazine size lowered from 200 to 150
- Cost increased by 15%
Zenyatta and Winston get buffed?
Alternatively, Zenyatta and Winston have had some notable buffs in the next patch. Zenyatta will now be able to target enemies with his Orb of Discord through barriers. And his Orb of Destruction recovery fire has been nearly halved, from 1s to 0.6s. And with Winston, the cooldown on his barrier starts when it is placed, rather than when it ends.
Though the changes have been made public, these could still change before they are released into the game. To know more about the patch, visit the Overwatch PTR Change thread at the Blizzard forums here.
