New “Overwatch: Uprising” Comics sets the stage for King’s Row Uprising event

There is a new Overwatch Comic releasing today called Overwatch: Uprising, and highlights some of the most important parts of of Overwatch‘s history, but it could have a big say in how the games next update could be shaping up.

The new fluff looks to flesh out an important event in Overwatch history that will likely be used for the upcoming King’s Row Upsring event that will drop on April 12.

The comic is set in the earlier days of Overwatch, shortly after the Omnicrisis when many parts of the world were still in turmoil, the conflict was incited by a group of Omnic extremists lead by an individual called Null Sector who will probably play a role in the game’s event.

Here’s a quick summary of the info provided about this new Overwatch comic:

“Seven years into Overwatch’s past–on the eye of a historic peace accord–King’s Row is seized by an extremist faction of robots known as Null Sector.

“The British government forbids Overwatch from interceding, which means Strike Commander Jack Morrison must decide whether to disobey orders or stand by while thousands of lives are in peril.”

With Overwatch Game Director Jeff Kaplan leading the charge at the BAFTA Awards. He’s been dropping hints about the types of skins people might be seeing.

We also got a look at some potential skins that could come with the King’s Row Uprising event.

Earlier this week Blizzard tweeted the tease of their upcoming Kings Row event on twitter

The comic alludes to some potential new skins for Tracer, with Widowmaker already confirmed to get new digs when a new event goes live on April 11.
