The next game in the Call of Duty first-person shooter series will be set during World War II
Last month, artwork for the next entry in the Call of Duty series, called Call of Duty WWII, emerged online, confirming how the series is really going back to its roots. Today, Activision officially confirmed the game and when more information will be available.
The confirmation is just that – a confirmation. No details were provided – the full reveal will take place during a livestream at 10am PT on Wednesday, April 26, the publisher said that the Sledgehammer Games-developed Call of Duty: WWII will be more fully revealed during a livestream next Wednesday.
As already mentioned, it’s been known for some time that Call of Duty would be going back to its roots with this year’s entry.
“In 2017, Activision will take Call of Duty back to its roots, and traditional combat will once again take center stage. This is what our dedicated community of Call of Duty players and Sledgehammer Games, developing this year’s title, are the most excited about”
They also release a promotion Image which you can see above, however we still don’t know the release date, hopefully we will get more information on that on 26 April 2016! Normally activision is known to release Call Of Duty games in November month, following spring announcement.
No Platform were announced, but most likely it’ll be coming for PS4, XBOX ONE and PC
This is absolutely phenomenal news. Considering that the series was running out of steam and losing a bunch of long-time fans, it’s great that they’re finally returning to their roots,
Maybe we’ll just see a cinematic campaign trailer and they’ll save the gameplay footage for E3 2017 in June. That’s usually how it ends up happening.
All we know is that we’re so glad that this game is officially happening. We can’t wait to see more next week.
