Overwatch players who make the switch over to Heroes of the Storm will be rewarded with two new skins, Oni Genji and Officer D.Va, plus a plethora of other Overwatch rewards
Oni Genji is, quite possibly, the best Overwatch skin available, and Officer D.Va isn’t too far behind. And that’s left console players pretty sad. For plenty of Overwatch players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, there’s no way to earn the Heroes skins. “Some players could just log onto a laptop even if they’re a console player, but unlike others, there is absolutely no way weplayers can get the skins,” one forum user wrote, Blizzard is aware of that frustration and has revealed those skins won’t stay exclusive to the MOBA forever.
“We completely understand that there are some players who do not own or have access to a PC to play Heroes of the Storm,” Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan wrote on the game’s forums. “Because of this, we plan to add both the Oni Genji skin and the Officer D.Va skin to the normal, base Overwatch loot box at some point in the future.”
Kaplan didn’t get any more specific than that, but at least Overwatch players can now see the light at the end of the tunnel and is eager to get their hands on these skins eventually.
For those of us who do have access to a PC, Kaplan wants us to play the Nexus Challenge even if we can get the skins another way. “Heroes of the Storm is an amazing game and you’ll unlock those skins for free and before anyone else.”
The Nexus Challenge 2.0 event through which Heroes of the Storm players can earn the exclusive Overwatch skins (and other rewards) is part of the game’s massive 2.0 revamp which is now live.
